Treetop Studio worked with the University of Leicester, DCU and a number of other universities throughout Ireland in developing an advocacy document called Physical Activity Report Card. This document is a way of collating all the data around children’s physical activity from the island of Ireland and scoring it like a school report card. The document’s end users are academics but also stakeholders in the community who do work with children’s physical activity. The document is designed to be used by stakeholders to advocate for more funding, more provision and more policy for children’s physical activity.
This is the second edition of the report card, the first was launched in 2014 along with 12 other nations globally. Now, in 2016, the second edition will be launched with up to 40 other nations at a conference in Bangkok, Thailand in November 2016.
Treetop Studio created a theme for the 2016 edition of the report card entitled “Are our kids moving with the times?” and carried this theme throughout the document in the form of playful illustrations depicting children, sometimes with their families in either sedentary or active positions.
